Layla’s Story - Facing Myself, Finding Freedom
My name is Layla, and self-reflection became a huge part of my daily life after finally leaving my relationship with Xavier. He wasn't physically abusive, but the emotional manipulation and gaslighting left me questioning my worth daily. His words haunted me, even after I walked away.
One night, overwhelmed with emotions, I started journaling using self-reflection prompts I found online. The first prompt asked, "Who am I beyond the pain others have caused?" Writing down my thoughts felt intimidating at first—I wasn’t sure I’d recognize the person I saw reflected on the page. But with every prompt, I rediscovered parts of myself I'd forgotten existed—my dreams, my resilience, my value.
Today, I continue journaling as a daily practice. Through self-reflection, I've reclaimed my identity, my voice, and most importantly, my peace.
