When things were good, they felt really good.
That’s what made it so hard to leave.
There were moments where I felt seen and chosen, and I held onto those moments tightly.
But in between, I was anxious most days, constantly worried I’d say the wrong thing or ruin the mood.
I kept telling myself every relationship has ups and downs, and that this was normal.
It wasn’t until I left that I realized how tense my body had been the entire time.
